Feasibility Studies and Assessments are Vital to Determine the Viability of a Project
Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies
Let the data lead. RMS undertakes fully integrated technical design, economic assessments, and feasibility studies at every stage from concept to closing. Our team leads provide data-driven recommendations for our clients. These independent studies, reviews, and reports support the development of successful, risk-managed mining projects.
Let Our Experience Work for You.
Trust experience. Our expertise draws on decades of experience in exploration, geotechnics, engineering, and metallurgy. The multidisciplinary professionals at RMS have experience with both private and public companies, single and multi-source projects, small and large scales mines, as well as a variety of ore and mineral types. Our team of well-rounded and highly skilled professionals will add value at all stages of your mining project’s lifecycle.
The Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA)
The Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) is a scoping-level study which relies on information from disciplines such as geotechnical, environmental, infrastructure, and markets in addition to the core inputs from mining, geology, and metallurgy.
The Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS)
The Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) further develops the concepts and work completed in scoping-level studies, examines necessary trade-offs or optimizations, and may progress resources into reserves. Multi-disciplinary technical teams will improve the accuracy of capital estimates through the completion of additional engineering. Disciplines such as geo-technical, environmental, infrastructure, and markets are utilized in addition to the core inputs from mining, geology, and metallurgy.
Feasibility Studies (FS)
The Feasibility Study (FS) builds on previously completed designs and trade-off studies and begins to include sample collection and test work. Detailed estimates are developed with multiple vendor quotes that focus on constructability and schedule. All disciplines including geo-technical, geology, mining, metallurgy, process design and environmental, work together to hone the final representation. This level of study is fundamental when making production decisions, arranging finance and providing a basis for permitting activities.
RMS conducts these studies entirely in-house or as part of a larger team on an as needed basis.
